Cookie policy

Our privacy notice explains how and why we collect, use and store your data. This policy explains how we use cookies, and lets you know the options you have to control them.

1. WHAT TYPES OF COOKIE DO WE USE?

If you’re a guest, we don’t set cookies.

If you have a user account with us, we set functional cookies for the operation of the website, including the forums, and others make it simpler for you to use our services (for example, they keep you logged in).

2. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

Our aim is to set an absolute minimum of third-party cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, for example, which tracks user data. And we do not use online fonts or other resources served from third-party sites, which can also set cookies.

The exception is our registration pages, which use reCaptcha to establish that a real human being is filling in the form. This is a service provided by Google, which sets a persistent cookie. It can be deleted after registration.

3. CONTROLLING COOKIES

You can restrict the use of cookies or completely prevent them from being set. Most browsers provide ways to control cookie behaviour (such as the length of time they are stored) either through built-in functionality or third party plugins.

If you disable cookies, please be aware that some of the features of Ship of Fools may not function correctly.
